Playing with the Big Boys

Jonathan had the opportunity to practice at Dorman High School and then practice with the varsity team. The boys were looking forward to it all week. We drove his friend Ryan Micheal so I got a picture of both of them ready to go. They were really excited.
And in case you were wondering, Yes they are the same age, well close, he is 6 months older than Jonathan.
Here he is walking to the fields with his some of his teammates, at the beginning of practice.
This next shot is my favorite shot of him. He was listening to the Dorman coach talk about the big boys success and how they hoped one day that the little boys would be Dorman players.

Here is a larger group shot.

Here is some video of Jonathan practicing some plays with the specific Dorman coach and the players.

First Official Scrimmage

Jonathan had his first real scrimmage on Saturday. They played really well and had an easy win. Be sure to watch the video below to see him in action. By the way he is the short one in the back of the field, he is a safety.
I will be sure to post some pictures of him tonight. His team is going up to Dorman to practice with the big boys. He is so excited, they got their jerseys last night and he wore his to school today per the coaches. They will practice in their full uniform tonight.
Till next time

My car will not start

This is usually not a good thing, but today especially it wasn't a good thing. I was going out to my car to go pick Jonathan and Sarah up from Good News Club. Well I stuck my keys in the ignition and nothing happened. I mean NOTHING! I started to panic, I needed to be at school by 3:45 and it was quickly getting to be that time as I continued to try and figure it out. I finally conceded that I would not be able to get my car started. I called the school and figured out that my neighbor Anne Claire was still at school and would be able to bring my children home. Yeah! I had to call Bunnie my boss at the Westside Club, and tell her that I would not be able to make it since my car was not moving. Well let me explain, I would put the key in the ignition and it would not move, it was locked for the most part. This did not make sense. I tried to call the Honda dealership, they did not answer. I finally looked closer at the keys and realized that they were not my keys, they looked like my keys, it was my key ring, my Honda key, my Honda remote my toile key, my Saturn car key and several other keys , Oh wait I don't have a toile key or a Saturn key. Whose keys were these????? It finally dawned on me they were Heather's keys... we have the same key ring and the same type of van so we have the same car stuff, I must have picked them up on Sunday thinking they were mine...; Wow I feel quite foolish.:-( She had been looking for her keys all night last night and this morning. Well once I realized that I had the wrong keys, I was able to get my keys and head off to work after Anne Claire dropped off Sarah and Jonathan. It was a great night at work I only had a few kids and got to leave early.
Hope you got a chuckle out of my story

Kid's say the cutest things

I just need to tell you a cute story that Jonathan's teacher told me yesterday when I went in to help her. She said Jonathan came up to her very serious and said (I will try to recreate what was said).
Jonathan: "You are very lucky to have me in your class this year!"

Teacher: (Trying to keep a straight face) "Well Jonathan I know, but what do you mean?"
Jonathan: " Well you know that I have never gotten below and "A" EVER! and I don't plan to this year either!"
Teacher: "Well I didn't expect anything less of you."
I am sure some more was said, but this was all I could remember. He is so cute.... I am glad his teacher thinks he is as cute also, or this exchange may not have been as good. Let me just say this before you all think it. He did not get his big ego from me or his father, not sure where it came from. But cute all the same.
Till next time,

Free at Chick Fil A part 2

As most of my regular readers already know we will do just about anything for a free meal. We dressed like cow to get a free meal, we frequent kids eat free establishments regularly and we use restaurant.com certificates often. On Labor Day Chick fil A had a promotion that if you wore a football team shirt, logo etc... that they would give you a free "new" 4(?) piece chicken strips. We heard this and of course we all were trying to figure out what we could wear. The kids all had something to wear, Tyler and I had to pull out some old Penn State stuff, Tyler's was a new shirt, mine was a sweat shirt I bought when we were dating... it still fit! Yeah... well it was waaaaaay too hot to wear it so I just wrapped it around my waist, but I still got my chicken strips. Here are some shots of the kids at Chick fil A.
Do I need to mention again that we LOVE Chick fil A!!!!

Hope you enjoyed today's post, check back for more tomorrow! or maybe later tonight.
Till the next time,

Jonathan the linebacker, well maybe not.

I meant to post a picture sooner of him in his equipment, but we got the equipment and I never got the picture loaded onto the computer.
We did not have his helmet when this picture was taken.
I will be sure to take some video of him from his first game, it is coming up soon.
He is really loving football, they nicknamed him fearless last night at practice.
